Raamatuesitlus: Merli Laur "Põngerlinn"

You are invited to the presentation of Merli Laur’s book "Põngerlinn" on Tuesday, 13 October at 17:00 in the main hall of Pärnu Central Library. NB! This is not a children’s book!   The book „Põngerlinn“ is a work of fiction inspired by real-life experiences and observations. The book offers an eye-opening look into the everyday work of a rather hidden agency: child protection. However, this book is not documentary literature, even though its characters and situations are inspired by real life. These stories, which at first glance seem to take place only on the margins of Estonian society, are shrouded in secrecy to protect children and families. Only a few dramatic incidents reach the public, usually from the parents’ point of view. But what does a person feel when they constantly see neglected or abused children? Kadi Saar will talk with the author. It will be a relaxed, candid conversation between friends. We’ll talk with Merli about how the book came about, the many-sided work of a child protection worker, and simply being human. Listeners are welcome to join the conversation. The book was published in spring 2026 by Pilgrim publishing house - Merli Laur "Põngerlinn" [https://pilgrim.ee/toode/pongerlinn/] Event on Facebook [https://fb.me/e/kJr2GDlmp]
