Morten

The film's protagonist, Morten, cannot find his place in the school environment. Exclusion and pressure from his classmates make him ask with increasing anguish where he belongs and who he really is. When two girls enter Morten's life—Miia, who is involved in street art, and Emilie, a mysterious bog girl—he finds himself between two worlds: everyday reality and the mystical, the city and the bog, first feelings and painful choices. Told with warmth and understanding, the film “Morten” combines a gentle portrayal of young people's inner worlds with social sensitivity and a mystical dimension. It is a compelling film about self-discovery, the pain of being invisible, friendship and first feelings—and the courage to remain yourself even when the world around you makes it far from easy. “Morten” is based on the award-winning book “Morten, Emilie ja kadunud maailmad” by writer Reeli Reinaus.
