25 °C and Sunshine A Piece of Summer Director: Laura Jaanhold Production dramaturg: Paul Piik (Kinoteater) Designer: Illimar Vihmar Music designer: Taavi-Peeter Liiv Video designer: Mikk-Mait Kivi Lighting designer: Ivar Piterskihh On stage: Liis Karpov, Kadri Rämmeld, Tambet Seling, Oskar Seeman (guest performer) You want something good. You want that feeling you sometimes have in summer. You want fun, pace and beautiful moments. Sweat, joy, nature, freedom. Music. White nights. Mellow evenings. Sun. So hot it burns. And yet so soft. Caressing. Warm. Finally, warmth. Finally, light. The production “25 °C and Sunshine” was born from a desire for a place where summer could last forever. Dramaturg Paul Piik interviewed Estonians of different genders and ages and asked which moments, feelings and images associated with summer make their hearts beat faster. We found out. And now they’re on stage. A neighbours’ quarrel over mowing? It’s here. A beautiful moment? It’s here. Several times over. Driving to Pärnu with a Karl Madis cassette playing in the background? It’s here. And much more. This is a playful, humorous production about the season Estonians look forward to and long for most. When should you visit Estonia? In summer. When should you visit Pärnu? Definitely in summer. In Pärnu, summer now lasts twelve months—three outdoors and nine in the theatre. “25 °C and Sunshine” is summer.
