Härrasmehed muusikas. Muinaslugu meloodias.

On the dark evenings of November this year, true gentlemen of Estonia’s music scene have joined forces – artists well known to us from the stage of the Estonian National Opera, who have all also shone at popular music concerts in addition to the theatre. In their distinctive concert programme “Gentlemen in Music – A Tale in Melody”, the men have brought together well-known numbers from operettas and musicals, as well as elegant melodies from the music of southern countries. And most importantly, a large part of the programme is performed in our beloved mother tongue! On three unique evenings, we will hear the gentlemen perform beautiful gems of Italian music such as “O sole mio” and “You Have Made Me Happy”, as well as songs of Mexican origin such as “La Paloma” and “Cielito lindo”. The programme also features well-known melodies from the silver screen – for example, the theme tune from the legendary film “The Godfather”. Since our hearts also belong to homegrown masters, the programme includes evergreen works by Estonian composers. The evening will undoubtedly be filled with nostalgia and the joy of recognition. We will hear songs that have brought joy, helped people overcome difficulties, stirred up great excitement and vivid memories, and even brought tears to the corner of the eye. All this is presented to us in person by Gentlemen in Music – Voldemar Kuslap, Väino Puura, Jassi Zahharov, Oliver Kuusik, Rene Soom and Heldur Harry Põlda. The evening is accompanied by the Horoskoop Ensemble under the direction of Martin Trudnikov.
