Rural Living Day invites you to discover what life outside the city could be like – for real, through communities, opportunities and people. On this day, municipalities, villages, schools, kindergartens, village centres, health, cultural and sports centres, and local businesses across Estonia open their doors. You can meet active local people, hear community stories and explore the opportunities available if you live or work in the countryside or start a business there. Information about available homes, services, job opportunities and community life will be shared on site. Participating municipalities create the programme together with local people to show authentically how life in the countryside is lived today. As you consider your options, you can also read stories from people who have recently moved from the city to the countryside and found a new home, rhythm and opportunities there. Bring your family and see for yourself that people really do live in the countryside!
