Akadeemia tn raamatuklubi: Eesti ajalooline krimi
Akadeemia tn 3, Pärnu, 80011 Pärnu maakond, Eesti
At the October meeting of the Pärnu Central Library’s Akadeemia Street book club, on 15 October at 17:30 in the gallery, the topic will be historical crime novels from Estonia, specifically those set in earlier periods—from the Middle Ages to the end of the first Estonian Republic. Apteeker Melchior and the Sagadi manor owner and court assessor von Fock have become famous for their deeds on both the pages of books and on screen. In addition to the creators of these well-known characters, Indrek Hargla and Ain Kütt, historical crime fiction has also been written by Joel Jans, Andres Adamson, Erkki Koort, Lille Roomets, Elo Selirand, Merike Jürjo and many others. At the October book club, we’ll each read an Estonian historical crime novel of our choice and introduce it to fellow club members. To make choosing a little easier, we’ve compiled a recommended reading list [https://www.pkr.ee/fileadmin/dok/Eestiajaloolinekrimi.pdf] The list also includes Estonia’s first crime novel: theatre figure Aleksander Trilljärv wrote the crime story “Keev veri”, published in 1893. We also explore new books at every meeting. You can join the book club at any time; you are welcome! Event on Facebook [https://fb.me/e/asvOpXCh2]
