Alari Allika maalinäitus
Lembitu tn 1, Pärnu, 80028 Pärnu maakond, Eesti
Alari Allikas is an Estonian painter whose work explores the intersections of landscape, memory, and faith. The exhibition opening will take place at the Raeküla Vanakool Centre on Sunday, 30 August at 14:00. A small author concert will also be held on this occasion. Alari Allikas was born in Estonia into a family of teachers. He spent his childhood in Palamuse and other places where his parents’ teaching careers took them. He went to school in Tartu. His deeper interest in painting found an outlet over four years at the Children’s Art School. Alari has spent much of his life in Pärnu, but also lived and worked for a year in Canada and five years in England. Over the decades, he has served as a pastor, community leader, and family man, but painting has remained a constant creative calling in his life and gained new momentum after his miraculous recovery from a serious heart condition in 2017. His paintings draw inspiration from landscapes, rivers, villages, journeys, spiritual reflections, and stories that shape human life. Whether depicting the Estonian coastline, an Italian bell tower, or a symbolic pilgrimage, his work seeks to capture moments when the visible and invisible meet. Since his wife Katrin’s passing in 2024, painting has become an even deeper space for reflection, gratitude, and hope. Today, Alari works in his studio in Pärnu, creating works that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and discover beauty, meaning, and light in everyday life. His journey to the present has been shaped by early studies and later consultations at the Tartu Children’s Art School (teachers Jõgever and Pukk), drawing classes at the Tallinn Art Institute, and the British artist Stuart Davies, who works in France. He has previously held solo exhibitions in Tartu, Nõo, Kehra, Pärnu, and Stokesley in England. He has also participated with his paintings in, among others, the Pärnu Artists’ Annual Exhibition. The exhibition “Heaven Meets Earth” is Alari Allikas’s seventh solo exhibition.
