Koidula muuseum
Museum · Pärnu maakond, Pärnu linn
The former home of Johann Voldemar Jannsen (1819–1890) and Lydia Koidula (1843–1886) presents their lives and work in the context of the Estonian National Awakening through a permanent exhibition. The house is also of cultural and historical significance as a school for country folk and the editorial office of the weekly Perno Postimees. The permanent exhibition is complemented by a temporary exhibition hall, where you can view a retrospective of Koidula productions and television programmes, take part in museum lessons, and read the newspapers Postimees and Pärnu Postimees. The Koidula museum house also has a recently renovated garden behind it, where red cobblestone paths lead to an outdoor stage.
