The small church, reminiscent of a prayer house, was completed in 1935 and designed by Märt Merivälja. The building does not strictly follow the customary architecture of an Orthodox church. The wooden church’s hipped roof reflects the national-romantic character of the 1920s and 1930s. In the middle of the gable ridge is a small ridge turret with a rounded tent-shaped cap. Interesting to know: at the request of local people, the onion dome characteristic of Orthodox churches was not built. In 1938, the newspaper Päevaleht wrote: “The tower was left unbuilt because some members of the congregation did not like the old-fashioned onion-shaped tower envisaged in the design.” The Treimani Parish of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul is active in the church.
