Discover Kihnu Museum – a mirror of the islanders’ soul! Kihnu Museum is a place where you can experience the distinctive world and vibrant culture of Kihnu Island. Housed in a former schoolhouse, the museum tells stories of islanders’ everyday lives, seafaring, handicrafts and folk costumes – everything that makes Kihnu’s cultural space unique and has earned it a place on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Guided tours and workshops offer insight into the island’s traditions. There is a cosy gift shop where you can find authentic Kihnu handicrafts and local souvenirs. The museum also hosts the community’s most important cultural events, and smaller seminars or gatherings can be held on the second floor. The museum’s exhibitions feature the life’s work of famous Kihnu men and a rich selection of artworks by Kihnu folk artists. Kihnu Island is easily reached by ferry from Munalaid Harbour. Ferries depart several times a day, and the crossing takes about half an hour. Kihnu Island and its museum are waiting for you!
