Lihula kirik
Church · Pärnu maakond, Lihula linn
The old St Elizabeth’s Church in Lihula was destroyed in 1297 in the war between the Teutonic Order and the bishop. A new church was built and remained standing until 1874, when it became unusable because of its poor condition. The new church was completed in 1876. The church altar, pews and pulpit were made by local craftsman Laurberg; the Baroque sculptures on the pulpit front are from the old church. The altarpiece and one of the tower bells also date from an earlier period. The organ builder was C. A. Tanton.
